Q. Who is the supplier of my new car?
A. All our vehicles are supplied directly from the manufacturer via one of our delivery agents. We do not supply imported vehicles.
Q. Will I get more than one key?
A. All vehicles are delivered with a full set of keys which usually comprises of two keys.
Q. Can i put a private registration plate on my car?
A. We do not allow private registration plates on our vehicles.
Q. What type of agreements do ACL Automotive offer?
A. We specialise in both Business and Personal Short term vehicle lease agreements.
Q. How long can a lease agreement be for?
A. We offer the best flexibility with our lease agreements with options ranging from 6 to 18 months.
Q.How much is required as a down payment for my Contract Hire agreement?
A. Your initial down payment can be as low as 1 or as high as 12 regular monthly rentals. The higher the opening down payment is, the lower the regular monthly rental will be.
Q. How do I make my lease payments?
A. All payments are required to be paid by Direct Debit.
Q. Can I increase or reduce the annual mileage allowance during the agreement period?
A. You may be able to increase your mileage mid-contract, but you cannot reduce it. To request a mileage increase simply contact our customer services team and they will be able to advise if it is possible to increase your mileage.
Q. Can I extend my contract if I require the car for longer?
A. You are able to extend our one and 3 month contracts for monthly or longer periods. For all other contract lengths we will most likely be able to offer an extension. In the rare instances we cant, we will provide a suitable replacement vehicle which will be confirmed when an extension is requested at the end of contract..
Q. How much does delivery cost?
A. Nothing! Delivery across the UK mainland is FREE. We can deliver vehicles to work or home addresses.
Q. How will my new vehicle be delivered?
A. Your new vehicle will be delivered by one of our associated delivery drivers.
Q. How long does it take from ordering my car to receiving it?
A. We can deliver most cars in around 7-10 days.
Q. Who is responsible for servicing my vehicle and how often?
A. The majority of our vehicles are brand new so are designed to avoid maintenance costs, however our 3 month contacts do include maintenance. The majority of our 6 & 12 month contracts do not include maintenance as standard making you responsible for all servicing requirements on contract. All servicing must be carried out to your vehicles manufacturers specifications, details of these can be found in the vehicle handbook. For more information regarding servicing requirements for your specific lease, please refer to your lease agreement.
Q. Is my vehicle covered by a warranty?
A. Every new vehicle we lease comes with a full UK manufacturer’s warranty.
Q. Do I have to insure the vehicle myself?
A. Insurance must be organised by you and, as a legal requirement, begin from the date the vehicle is delivered to your address. Insurance policies must be fully comprehensive and cover the duration of your contract. Insurers must be made aware that the vehicle is registered to the finance company and is on lease to you.
Q. What do I do if my vehicle breaks down?
A. For vehicles under 12 months old roadside assistance is included as standard. For vehicles older than 12 months, you will need to arrange your own Road Assistance Cover for the duration of your lease.
Q. What if I have an accident?
A. If you are involved in an accident, you will need to notify both ourselves and your insurance company so they can negotiate directly with us. Different insurers have different policies and procedures so we advise you check the procedure with your insurer first.
Q. Do I have to return my vehicle at the end of the lease?
A. No, your vehicle will be collected from your work or home address at the end of the agreement period.
Q. Is my vehicle’s condition checked at the end of the lease period?
A. Yes, vehicles need to be in a condition that is relevant to its age and mileage covered at the end of the lease period. The BVRLA provide guidance on what Fair Wear and Tear standards are for end of lease vehicles.
Q. Can I hand my car back early?
A. If you wish to early terminate a contract, the termination figure will be the remaining rentals of your contract. For example, a 6 month contract terminated in month 4 would mean you would be liable for 2x months as an early termination figure.
Q. Who do I need to notify if I have an accident?
A. If you are involved in an accident, you will need to notify your insurance company so they can negotiate directly with the leasing company. Different insurers have different policies and procedures so we advise this is checked directly with them.
Q.Do you perform Credit Checks?
A. Yes. We always carry out a credit check. These are soft searches but the search will appear on your credit file.
Q. Do you supply to new business start ups?
A. Yes. We consider all types of business applications, however if your business is new we will most likely ask for a directors guarantee.
Q. Do you take on people with Bad Credit?
A. We do not have a fixed underwriting criteria as all applications are looked at by a person, not a computer so we can be more flexible than other car lease providers; however we will not approve an application if you have any active CCJ's, are in an IVA or are an active bankrupt.
Q. Can I Pay everything upfront to avoid being credit checked?
A. You can pay everything upfront if you wish, however you will need to pass a credit check as we are supplying you a vehicle that is worth more than the rental payments.
Q. Do you supply to Non UK residents / People who are new to the UK?
A. If you are coming to the UK on a work/study assignment or moving back to the UK from abroad we can still help. Simply complete the online application and one of our customer advisors will contact you to discuss what other documentation will be required from you depending on your circumstances.
Q. How many drivers can be added on to the lease?
A. You can have as many drivers as you want, so long as they’re all listed as named drivers on your insurance policy or covered by a company fleet policy if you are a business user.
Q. How old do you need to be to lease a car?
A. 18+
Q. What happens If I go over my mileage allowance?
A. Excess mileage charges apply if you go over you allocated mileage allowance. Our excess mileage rates can be viewed against each vehicle in the deal summary on our website.
